Buhari celebrates Fr Mbaka as he celebrates 20 years of
priesthood

President Buhari today showered kind words on
controversial cleric, Fr. Ejike Mbaka, spiritual director of the
Adoration Ministry Enugu who celebrated 20 years of
priesthood today July 29th. In a statement signed by
presidential media aide, Shehu Garba, President Buhari
described the cleric as a man who dares to speak the truth
to anyone in power.
“Mbaka is a great priest who is not afraid to speak
truth, even at the cost of his own life or being hated by
those in power. He rose to the occasion to add his
voice in support of good governance and identify with
ordinary Nigerians in the face of despair and uncertain
future. Though honest opinions attract hostility from
leaders detached from reality, history would be kind to
Father Mbaka for courageously speaking truth to
power, even at great risks.” he said

God’s Purpose or Mine?

He made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him
to the other side… — Mark 6:45
We tend to think that if Jesus Christ compels us to do
something and we are obedient to Him, He will lead us to
great success. We should never have the thought that our
dreams of success are God’s purpose for us. In fact, His
purpose may be exactly the opposite. We have the idea that
God is leading us toward a particular end or a desired goal,
but He is not. The question of whether or not we arrive at a
particular goal is of little importance, and reaching it
becomes merely an episode along the way. What we see as
only the process of reaching a particular end, God sees as
the goal itself.
What is my vision of God’s purpose for me? Whatever it may
be, His purpose is for me to depend on Him and on His
power now. If I can stay calm, faithful, and unconfused
while in the middle of the turmoil of life, the goal of the
purpose of God is being accomplished in me. God is not
working toward a particular finish— His purpose is the
process itself. What He desires for me is that I see “Him
walking on the sea” with no shore, no success, nor goal in
sight, but simply having the absolute certainty that
everything is all right because I see “Him walking on the
sea” ( Mark 6:49). It is the process, not the outcome, that is
glorifying to God.
God’s training is for now, not later. His purpose is for this
very minute, not for sometime in the future. We have
nothing to do with what will follow our obedience, and we
are wrong to concern ourselves with it. What people call
preparation, God sees as the goal itself.
God’s purpose is to enable me to see that He can walk on
the storms of my life right now. If we have a further goal in
mind, we are not paying enough attention to the present
time. However, if we realize that moment-by-moment
obedience is the goal, then each moment as it comes is
precious.
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
It is in the middle that human choices are made; the
beginning and the end remain with God. The decrees of
God are birth and death, and in between those limits man
makes his own distress or joy. Shade of His Hand, 1223 L

FMC, Owerri, boss ordered to proceed on leave
Abuja, July 27, 2015(NAN)
The Federal Government has ordered Dr Angela Uwakwem, the Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, to immediately proceed on her annual leave, a statement said.

The directive was part of the resolution reached at the end of the reconciliatory meeting involving the Management of Federal Medical Centre Owerri, representatives of the Federal Ministries of Labour and Productivity and Health, Nigeria Union of Allied Health Professionals (NUAHP) and National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that workers of the centre had accused Uwakwem of alleged gross financial misconduct and high handedness.

The meeting resolved that she should proceed on her leave, pending the recommendations of a fact-finding committee constituted to investigate the case.

According to the resolution, a copy of which was made available to the news Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday, the meeting was convened by the Ministry of Labour and Productivity, to resolve the current industrial action at the health institution.

It stated that the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) shall assign an officer to oversee the functions of FMC, Owerri, while the committee carries out its assignment.

The meeting further resolved that the FMoH would be responsible for the financial implication of the committee’s assignment, excluding the expenses of the representatives of the unions.

The statement said that the unions at FMC, Owerri, shall suspend their ongoing strike or before Wednesday and that no member of staff or trade union leadership would be victimised for participating in the strike.

It charged the committee to examine other issues that would strengthen the operations of the centre.

NAN reports that the resolution was signed by Mr Linus Awute, the Permanent Secretary, FMoH; Mr Ogbonna Chimelu, President NUAHP; Mr Danjuma Kurau, Director (Human Resources), FMoH, and Mr Adeniyi Abraiu-Alam, President of NANNM.

Tthe committee has one month to complete its work. (NAN)

Chris brown goes to church! most touching thing he has ever said

”I really wanna take this time to thank God for everything
he’s done for me over the years. The lessons and my
personal mistakes I’ve experienced. I’ve done a lot in this
short time I’ve been on this earth. I’m 26 but i feel 46 and I
understand a lot more as a man and a father. Before I left
the states for this tour run I was able to go to church. I
haven’t been in almost 15 years. HillsongLA!!!!! It’s making
me a better person and I appreciate all the fans across the
world who love me for me. I’m not perfect by any means
and no one has to be. From Gangs to fights to beefs to
drugs and anything else frowned upon I’ve been able to
learn my own way and love myself and continue to spread
positivity and SMILE. I feel comfortable in my own skin
because man cannot judge man. I want to continue my
path to be a legend. I want to always put a smile on the
faces of people who think about giving up. Life isn’t about
self all the time. Life is about “Love”. I was able to be
inspired by one the the greatest two human beings who
ever lived. “Michael Jackson” and “2pac”! Understand that
religion and the color of skin doesn’t make u any different
from the rest of us. Your walk of life is yours and yours
alone. Help one another and build life! Just want to show
my appreciation! Love yall!”

this is the reason i pray bf gets a discerning spirit

A good samaritan in Sango area of Ogun State has
reportedly lost his manhood after he gave money to a man
who begged for some financial assistance.
According to the reports which have now become viral, the
man who is a landlord with a house on Liberty road, Igbala
area, Sango Ota, was approached by a young man on the
street for money to enable him get drugs for his mother.
The landlord allegedly gave the beggar the sum of N700,
which turned out to be a huge mistake because immediately
he handed over the money, his manhood suddenly
disappeared.
According to the victim: “He (the beggar) looked desperate
and pitiful. He said he needed N700 to get a particular drug
for his sick mother. I have never seen him before but his
pleas really moved me. He said he dropped his last kobo on
the lunch he bought for his sick mother and out of pity, I
brought out N700 and gave him… but immediately I felt
something hit me. I couldn’t feel it, (his manhood). I didn’t
understand what was happening but when I heard him
talking on phone, I ran after him and held onto him and
shouted. With the help of youths and passers-by, we caught
him and brought him to the police station. He must restore
my manhood if not, he will not leave here alive.”
Someone who witnessed the scene also confirmed that he
had also encountered the culprit in the past. The witness
said: “It is not his first time, about this time last week, this
man (the culprit) asked me for exactly N700 to get drugs for
his mum, exactly the same story but God saved me from
giving him the money because I didn’t have any to give
actually, he was really convincing and looked so innocent.”
According to the police, the culprit feigned madness and
refused to talk upon being interrogated.

This morning, bf pings me to tell me sth funny happened few minutes ago. That a guy knocked on his door by say 6:30am to ask for financial assistance. BF has never met him before, and that compound houses abt 10 bungalows. Must really be annoying, and it looks to me targeted that he’d select that particular house. Might have observed him, he is the only bachelor in that compound, obviously, he would not be mad enough to wake up Alhaji, our next door neighbour! Guy lied that his sister had an accident n some stupid story, but when bf got angry he spilled the truth. He needed money. Me was of the opinion he probably wanted to smoke weed or do drugs. But bf says that’s not how the guy looked, lol, that he looked.

My bf has too much of an ‘obioma emeka’ spirit. He racked at d guy for disturbing him, but gave him 500, after giving him a piece of his mind. Me I was like ahh, did u pray b4 giving this guy money? Well he prayed just as I asked.

Now you see why my eye popped when I saw this story?

Anambara IMO River basin- erosion! who knows obiano?

I am Fidelis, I sometimes comment as Dat Igbo Boi. This
house is the only property my family has and my father is
late. The building is not even complete and the
irresponsible government of Anambra state now wants me
to be left empty handed in this world. Rain has been falling
unabated since last week thursday and the damage is
getting worse by the day and I don’t have a penny in my
account. The road is bad, The drainages are blocked and
nothing is working. Gov. Obiano does not provide a waste
management system and people have no option than to
turn the gutters into refuse dump. I hereby use this
medium to call on Gov,. Obiano to come and rescue me
because if I lose this house. I will commit suicide. Thank
You.

word alert!

Good morning every1, and top of the week to u!

So, today I just realized there is no correct english word like ‘sence’. And that its only in urban/modern english that you have it used in a way similar to a slang. SMH

I.e, what we spell sence should be sense. Thought one was like a verb, and another a noun, just like in licence and license. *Smh again*. My english teachers should come and receive their frog jump, and clap for themselves.

Peace/Udo.
